The PCIe gen 4 is the next evolution of a widely used, high-speed interface. PCIe 4.0 has double the throughput of PCIe 3.0. The PCIe 4.0 is structurally similar to the PCIe 3.0 and they key difference is the higher transfer rate, material used to achieve successful transmission of the PCIe signal.

The PCIe 4.0 use a 128b/130b encoding technique whereas the old generations use 8b/10b encoding.  This encoding transforms 128-bit data into 130-bit line code which allows reasonable clock recovery and ensures alignment of the data stream. the maximum theoretical bandwidth in Gbps (Gigabit per second) of each PCIe Gen 4.0 is 15.754 Gbps. The increase in bandwidth enables faster data transmission between PICe and endpoint.

The PCIe is backward and forward compatible which means that it can be used as a direct replacement for PICe 3.0 and also PCIe 3.0 will perform to the PICe 3.0 specs if used in PCIe 4.0 slots. The PCIe 40.0 would allow quicker transfer of the data being loaded in the GPU’s memory and decreased latency on the PCIe bus. In order to get the full benefit of the new technology, PCIe 4.0 should be used in a 4.0 motherboard with a compatible CPU.

PCIe 4.0 is simply considered the next generation of the interface standard by which certain components, specially graphics cards and solid state drives, connect to your system. With few PC’s currently supporting PCIe 4.0 it states that will grow into its utility in the coming years as drives, GPUs and other components continue to get faster.

Apple once again revolutionizing the tech industry!

With the new release of Apple’s arm base processer which they have named M1 processor, apple is changing the direction of the tech industry in CPU of laptops and computers. Apple form now on will be switching from Intel CPU to their own M1 chips.

Apple has used Intel processors in their mac form 2005 but, as Intel could not deliver the significant performance boost every year, Apple developed their own Arm based processor. Designed specifically for mac, Apple announced that M1 chips are the most powerful chip that they have created. Apple claims that the M1 chip is the world’s fastest CPU core in low-power silicon, the world’s best CPU performance per watt, the world’s fastest integrated graphics in a personal computer and breakthrough machine learning performance with the Apple Neural Engine making the chip 3.5x faster in CPU performance, 6x faster in GPU performance and 15x faster in machine learning all while enabling battery life up to 2x longer than previous generation.

Apple has released three devices (Mac mini, Macbook air, Macbook 13”) in the November of 2020 with the M1 chip in it. People are astonished with the performance of these devices. Intel Macs always had thermals problem but with the M1 chip, despite the extreme use the chip hardly heats up. Some AAA games are also available to play in higher settings and fps where as it was not possible in intel macs.

Apple has already given so much more in their first-generation arm processor and it is rumored that they will be launching new devices (Macbook 16” and iMac) in year 2021 with the chip M1x which will be more powerful than M1 chips. Will this attract more people to buy Macs than other windows laptop?

AMD Ryzen vs. Intel chipsets

Finally, after 12 years AMD launched its Ryzen 5000 processors, which is said to be the most powerful desktop chips available on the market. These processors offer the best single-threaded and gaming performance of any desktop chips. The fastest gaming CPUs right now are Intel’s latest 8th and 9th generation CPUs, which run in socket LGA1151 motherboards with 300-series chipsets. The Intel Core i9-9900KS is the best gaming CPU in the world for play in 1080p, having eight cores and supports up to 16 threads with all-core boost clock for 5GHz.

Talking about the new AMD Ryzen processors, the new range includes Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5800X, Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 9 5950X, which uses its Zen 3 architecture which is newer than the architecture used by Intel’s current 10th generation processors. The most powerful Ryzen processor, the Ryzen 9 5950X offers users 16 cores and 32 threads. The Ryzen 9 5900X has 12 cores and 24 threads as well as a base clock of 3.7GHz. the Ryzen 7 5800X have 8 cores and 16 threads with 3.7GHz base clocks. The Ryzen 5 5600X has 6 cores and 12 threads.

Intel has traditionally held the upper hand, but AMD’s Ryzen processors are shaking things up when it comes to thread counts and multitasking. The AMD processors win in two areas – cache and Thermal Design Power (TDP) which has at least double the cache of its Intel equivalent and acquire less power than Intel do. However, the AMD processors are more expensive than the Intel processors. Given the fact that the AMD processors are new, they use newer technologies.

Electric Cars: The Future of Cars.

A lot of companies are working on electric car like Tesla, Nissan, Chevy, Ford, BMW, Hyundai. It seems as if the 2020s will be the decade of the electric car.  The sales of battery electric and plug-in hybrid electric cars tripped over the two-million-vehicle marks for the first time in 2019. Electric cars were moving steadily into the spotlight.

When it comes to electric cars, their range is super important, the highest electric cars are going 250 to 400. So far, Tesla is the only car company looking likely to benefit in the coming years. People have been choosing the Tesla a lot lately, which means you’re right to use the word “picking the one with great battery with the performance and fun to drive and each feature over the ones that are actually battery built”. There are also people who would drive a super minimal car with not so many bells and whistles if it went a thousand miles on a charge over the best built thing one could possibly make if it only gives 200 miles.

Big automakers have been mass producing quality cars at huge scales with great materials, awesome designs, tight tolerance but are still behind in the battery and drive train technology and the charger networks which are enough for people to not really want to leave the gas cars that they know. Tesla feels like the only financially responsible version of a premium electric car as far as convenience goes.  Tesla has gone all in on their battery technology and their drive trains, their efficiency and their years ahead on that as they have been building their battery, giga batteries, electric motors which makes it fun to drive and goes so far.  

May be in few years the median range for the electric car matches the gas car for the same price, where people would love to see take a little more investing in fit and finish and just build quality. So, people might invest in battery technology and drive trains that makes Tesla, Tesla. Eventually the others are going to start to catch up in that department which can put everyone in the same playing field in both respects. There are a lot of other things to rant about electric car.  The bottom line is that  the electric cars are coming and they are coming fast and they all ought to get better and better in all the ways they struggle.

Autonomic computing is simply the ability of a computer to automatically manage itself through adaptive technologies that further computing capabilities and reduce the time required by computer professionals to solve system and other maintenance problems such as software updates.

This is another development in technology which is set to become prominent in tomorrow’s networks. Autonomic computing refers to a network’s self-managing functionality. Typically, in the event of failures or faults, it means a network’s ability to self-heal.

The autonomic network can easily detect and isolate network faults while leaving other network pieces untouched. Besides, without human intervention, these networks can quickly correct and ‘heal’ the defective hardware. In smart grids, autonomic networks are typical where a fault can be quickly isolated and the network cured without leading to a major outage in the electrical grid.

IBM’s supercomputer, Watson, an artificial intelligence computer system capable of answering questions asked in natural language, is the most popular technical tool in the field of cognitive computing. Watson is best known in the famous U.S. for trouncing a national champion effectively. Jeopardy, the TV quiz show. What rendered this triumph more impressive was that the supercomputer was able to decode and select the right response to the complexities in natural language.

Following Jeopardy’s popularity, Watson has also been hired by a major U.S. medical insurance firm to identify medical conditions and prescribe patient care plans. Watson would be able to examine 1 million books, or about 200 million data pages. Siri, the speech recognition software on the iPhone, is another well-known example of cognitive computing. Cognitive computing’s old avatar was specialist programs focused on artificial intelligence. This specialist system were inference engines which were focused on laws of knowledge.

5G is the 5th generation mobile network. It is a new global wireless standard after 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. 5G enables a new kind of network that is designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together including machines, objects, and devices.

5G wireless technology is meant to deliver higher multi-Gbps peak data speeds, ultra-low latency, more reliability, massive network capacity, increased availability, and a more uniform user experience to more users.
